Thanks to Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Virginia Green Industry Council, you can now recycle your plastic pots at many garden centers statewide, including ones in Hampton Roads.
Local garden centers that collect the pots include:
Countryside Gardens on East Mercury Boulevard in Hampton; 722-9909.
McDonald Garden Center on Pembroke Avenue in Hampton: 723-7463; http://www.mcdonaldgardencenter.com/recycle_pots
Ken Matthews Garden Center on Route 17 in York County; 898-7799.
Proceeds from the recycled plastics will be donated to the Virginia Master Gardener Association’s State Master Gardener Coordinator endowment fund.
