July 14, 2008- A dolphin swims in front of Hapag-Lloyd container ship heading to Norfolk International Terminals in the Chesapeake Bay on Monday, July 14, 2008. This is one of many photos I took during the Port Project for a special session and one of my favorites, too. Very unexpectedly, a dolphin swims in front of huge container ship heading to Norfolk International Terminals in the Chesapeake Bay. The story I did that day was shadowing Virginia pilots, who navigate the ships into the terminal. As we approached to the container ship, one of crews at the pilot boat saw the dolphin. They said they barely see those scenes even though they spend most of their work day in the bay. I guess right time and position and some luck can do some photos.
