Steaming toward Japan

Battleships and heavy cruisers steam in column on 14 July 1945 as they approach the Japanese coast for the bombardment of the iron works at Kamaishi. The USS Indiana (BB 58) is the nearest ship, followed by USS Massachusetts (BB 59) the cruisers USS Chicago (CA 136) and USS Quincy (CA 71).
