Another ship leaves the ghost fleet for Chesapeake

The Sunbird was moved from the James River Reserve Fleet at Fort Eustis Wednesday, August 17. The Sunbird, a Chanticleer-class submarine rescue ship, was built in Savannah, GA, and launched in April 1946. The Sunbird was being towed to Bay Bridge Enterprises, LLC, in Chesapeake, VA, where it will be dismantled.
