Robert Baker Pegram

Commander Robert Baker Pegram had links to Warwick County. After participating in the Confederate occupation of the Gosport Navy Yard in Portsmouth, he served with the Confederate Navy's James River Squadron and as commander of the commerce raider CSS Nashville, which conducted the first attack against a Northern merchant ship in the waters of Great Britain.
