The second annual Virginia Roast & Toast: Oyster Roast and Microbrew Beer Tasting will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Hermitage Museum & Gardens in Norfolk.
Presented by the Hermitage Young Associates Board, the event will include an afternoon of barbeque, bluegrass, Virginia beers and oysters by the river. Featured Virginia breweries include O'Connor, Starr Hill, and St. George, and oysters will be provided by Ballard Fish and Oyster. Live music will be performed by Jackass Flats.
For this event, shucked oyster shells will be cleaned and donated to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to be used to build oyster reefs in the Lafayette River.
Funds raised from the event will support a new heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system for the museum. The event will be held rain or shine.
