Daily Press

A police investigation is underway after a 6-week-old baby died in Norfolk Tuesday morning.

Officers were called shortly before 8:30 a.m. after a woman took her baby boy to a fire station because he was unresponsive, according to a Norfolk Police Department news release.

Medics transported the child to CHKD, but he was pronounced dead before they arrived to the hospital, police said.

Officers are investigating the case as an "undetermined death." The medical examiner will determine the cause of death, the release states.
