Hampton University and Fort Monroe have forged a partnership agreement to share professional and educational resources.
HU President William Harvey and Lt. Gen. David P. Valcourt will be sign the agreement during a ceremony at the Fort Monroe Casemate Museum, 20 Bernard Road, at 2 p.m. Friday.
The signing ceremony will be followed by the unveiling of a new Casemate exhibit at 3:30 p.m. that depicts the lives of emancipated slaves after they left "Freedom's Fortress." It includes resources on loan from the HU Museum.
From 5 to 8 p.m., a Multicultural Day celebration will take place at the Fort Monroe Parade Field with food tasting and entertainment. The event is free and open to the public.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
