Jamzfest -- a one-day hip-hop and R&B show sponsored by WOWI-FM (102.9) -- will return from a long hiatus next month. A concert set for July 28 at Scope in Norfolk will feature Rick Ross, Wale and Meek Mill, according to an announcement on the station's website.
Chatter on the station's morning show today suggested that more artists will be added to the bill.
The website doesn't mention prices but says that tickets will go on sale Friday, June 8.
A look back in the Daily Press archive suggests the last 103 Jamzfest took place in May 2000 at Hampton Coliseum. The lineup for that event? Jay- Z, Mobb Deep, Beanie Sigel, Da Brat, Memphis Bleek, Black Rob, Rah Digga, and Joe.
