Inside the PD: Former K'Tan guard Josh Fortune Colorado bound

Kecoughtan graduate Josh Fortune, who helped lead Providence to the Big East Conference championship in March, has decided to transfer to Colorado.

Fortune's father, Craig, confirmed Wednesday his son's plan to play for the Buffaloes. Craig Fortune said his son also was considering Minnesota, LSU and Valparaiso.

β€œFrom what he told me, he felt an initial bond with Colorado,” Craig Fortune said. β€œHe felt like Colorado was the right fit for him.”

Josh Fortune averaged 8.4 points a game and scored a career-high 24 in a Big East quarterfinal win over St. John's. He started every game and was named the Friars' Most Improved Player.

However, last month, Fortune announced his intentions to transfer.

As a transfer, Fortune must sit out the 2014-15 season. He will then have two years of eligibility with Colorado.
