<b>David Lee Edwards</b>, 27, of Norfolk, outran a police pursuit early the morning Wednesday, April 2, 2008, and was arrested after he slammed his vehicle into a McDonald's restaurant on Shore Drive in Norfolk. He has been charged with felony evasion and "seven unspecified traffic offenses," according to police.<br>

The incident began around 12:15 a.m., when an officer attempted to pull the vehicle over on Robin Hood Road because of undisclosed traffic violations. The driver refused to pull over and sped off onto Little Creek Road. The officer pursued the vehicle briefly, until police supervisors called off the pursuit. After the officer turned off the car's emergency lights and siren, Edwards continued up Little Creek Road.<br>

At 12:20, police received reports that Edwards had slammed his vehicle into the McDonald's restaurant on Shore Drive at Little Creek. When officers arrived, they found that he had fled on foot. He was apprehended about an hour later. Edwards had minor injuries and was treated at the scene before being turned over to police custody.
