Arrests in Baltimore for illegal guns often lead to dropped charges or little jail time

Andrew Mattison Jr., 25, of Virginia Beach, and Christopher Joyner Jr., a 23, of Chesapeake, were arrested and charged in connection with a home invasion robbery and shooting that occurred on May 7, 2008. The attack left the shooting victim in critical condition at a local hospital. Police say that around 11:23 p.m. on May 7, Mattison, Joyner and two other suspects broke into a home on Blacksmith Court in Virginia Beach and shot a man in the course of a robbery. Both Mattison and Joyner are charged with malicious assault, robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
