Jarice Lamier Royal, 20, of the 600 block of 41st Street, in Newport News, was arrested in Norfolk Friday, April 11, 2008, and charged with aggravated malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, in connection with a shooting in March.

In the shooting, the 19-year-old victim was shot three times -- once in each arm and once in his right hip. He recovered after surgery and was released from a hospital.
