Green Gates Gifts to close Hampton store, move to Gloucester

Daily Press

Green Gates Gifts, a locally owned home decor boutique, will close its Peninsula Town Center store in Hampton and reopen a renovated space in Gloucester, owner Lee Ann Kirkley says.

The Hampton store will close at the end of August. Through Aug. 19, everything in the store is discounted by 50 percent.

"There will be no further discount like some places," she says.

On Sept. 5, Kirkley says she will reopen her remodeled store in Gloucester Point, located at 1467 George Washington Memorial Highway.

"I find it too difficult to keep both places going," she says. "I have many good things to say about Raymond Tripp and his staff (at Peninsula Town Center). It is too much for me. I have a wonderful staff that has kept me going this long. I need to do one store great and living in Gloucester Point just makes more sense for me."
