School Board seeks Gloucester Point candidate

The Gloucester County School Board is seeking applicants for the Gloucester Point District seat that was vacated upon the death of Jean Pugh.

The term will begin Dec. 10 and end Dec. 31, 2013, said a spokeswoman for the School Board. Interested candidates should send a letter of interest to the School Board office by Nov. 9.

Applicants will be able to address the School Board at its monthly meeting on Nov. 13 and will be allowed to introduce up to two supporters to speak on their behalf.

The School Board will hold a closed meeting on Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Administrative Office conference room to conduct interviews with applicants.

The School Board is expected to appoint a member once in open session.

Letters should be submitted to Diane Clements Gamache, Clerk of the Gloucester County School Board, Administrative Offices Building Two, 6489 Main Street, Gloucester VA 23061.

The letters should include a statement of qualifications and letters of support from registered voters in the Gloucester Point District.
