A Gloucester man who was arrested Friday evening in connection with a fatal two-car wreck on Route 17 near Willis Road has been released from jail.
Jeremy Shane Hedrick, 40, of Ark, was arrested on a manslaughter charge by the Virginia State Police. He has been released from the Gloucester County Jail on a $10,000 secured bond, said Lt. Scott Little of the Gloucester County Sheriff's Office.
Hedrick was behind the wheel about 5 p.m. on Oct. 27 of a 1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup that struck a 1986 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Donald Troy Durham, 46, of Gloucester. Both Durham and his teenage daughter were thrown from their vehicle after it careened off the highway.
Durham died of his injuries on Oct. 29. His teenage daughter remains hospitalized with serious injuries.
Hedrick was treated and released from Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. After striking Durham's Blazer, Hedrick's vehicle veered off the highway and struck a tree.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
