Gloucester County received "a number of offers" for its request for proposals for a consultant to help guide the county through its Page Middle School rebuilding work.
Gloucester Purchasing Manager Bill Lindsay said he can't divulge any information regarding the offers that were received because the procurement is conducted as a competitive negotiation method versus the competitive bidding method.
The Gloucester County School Board solicited requests for proposals to help guide the school system through the process of rebuilding Page Middle School. The school suffered an estimated $16 million in damage in an April 16 tornado.
The School Board has yet to make a decision on whether to rebuild the school, or raze what's left of the structure and build a new school. The latter option was the sentiment of most of the residents who spoke at a public hearing on the future of the school in June.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
