Gloucester County holds wetlands information meeting for property owners

Property owners in Gloucester who want to know about the application process for property improvements along tidally-influenced rivers, creeks and marshes can attend a meeting 1-4 p.m. Thursday.

The Gloucester County Environmental Programs Department is partnering with the Virginia Marine Resources Commission and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for the public session. The meeting will be held in the Gloucester County Library's Main Branch community room.

Topics to be discussed include issues around wetlands, potential delays of projects while the research of wetlands is conducted, pier permitting and boathouse criteria, according to a Gloucester County spokeswoman.

Registration for the event is not required, though it's encouraged to assist in planning for the event.
