Fresh Market is bringing back its Hatch chilis for demonstration and sale on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Available for a limited time each year — from late July to early September — Hatch chiles come from Hatch, N.M., and are a bigger, milder chile pepper known for their vibrant flavors and lively colors.
Local chefs will be on hand to roast chilis for sale. You can catch them from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Newport News store, 12131 Jefferson Ave., and from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Williamsburg store, 1303 Jamestown Road.
Fresh Market also sells a number of Hatch chili products including Hatch Sour Dough Bread and Corn Bread and Hatch Chile Southwest Dip.
