Military bands and community orchestras come out to entertain area residents, often previewing what's coming up on music programs in the coming year.

The Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Band headquartered at Fort Eustis has several small ensembles that perform throughout the region.

Part of the Neptune Festival's "Symphony by the Sea" series, this concert will feature an evening of light classics, including Bach's Brandenburg Concerto No. 3, Grieg's "Peer Gynt" Suite, Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nachmusik" and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.
Michael Clark Band. 6:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22. Bennett's Creek Park, 3000 Bennett's Creek Park Road, Suffolk.
