Antwaine Pittman, 24, of Hampton was arrested on Tuesday night and charged with maiming, the use of a firearm in commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is suspected of shooting a female acquaintance. The woman, who lives in the same Doolittle Road apartment complex as Pittman, was found in her apartment around 5:30 a.m. Monday with a gunshot wound to her upper torso. Police spokeswoman Allison Good said the Pittman and the shooting victim know each other, and that the shooting came after a "physical altercation" in the victim's apartment. The victim remains in serious condition at a local hospital.
