Thanks to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, when you're not using social media to find a date or overthrow a regime, your Facebook page will soon be able to find you a suitable seatmate. KLM is planning a service in which passengers can use their Facebook and LinkedIn profiles to search for other passengers with similar interests who are going to be on their flight.
Both passengers would have to consent to using the service before seatmate suitors would be allowed access to their profiles, so don't worry about the creepy guy in 11C getting unwanted access to your personal information. Malaysia Airlines and Ticketmaster have also unveiled interactive applications designed to allow customers to "check-in" and find friends at mutual locations.
Launch of the service is expected in 2012. More information is available here.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
