Bears tight end Martellus Bennett showed off his artwork publicly for the first time at a reception Monday for The Dinner Party, a monthly talk show at City Winery.
And while proceeds from the show will benefit After School Matters, Bears fans wanted to talk about only one thing: the injuries to Jay Cutler and Lance Briggs.
"We'll take it one game at a time," Bennett said. "There's a lot of ups and downs just like a theme park. There's a lot of roller coasters in the football season. It's probably the best reality TV there is in real life."
"Life goes on. This is life. There's going to be guys that go down, guys get hurt. But life goes on. We've got to do our part. ... We've got a lot of guys on the team that's in the NFL for a reason, so those guys will get a chance to step up and become the future stars of the Chicago Bears."
The Bears are off this weekend, returning to the field Nov. 4 at Green Bay. Bennett said he plans to do some retail therapy, play fetch with his dogs and work out during his time off.
