The following items were taken from police reports:

Oak Park

A 43-year-old Chicago woman was charged March 11 with theft by deception after she solicited cash, checks and money orders totaling $7,260 between November 2011 and July 2012 from a woman living on the 1200 block of North Ridgeland Avenue by falsely claiming she would help her refinance her mortgage.

A 17-year-old Chicago boy was charged with aggravated assault after he threatened to hit a male staff member with a glass jar at Camelot Schools of Oak Park, 6525 North Ave., at 3:20 p.m. March 11.

DNA on a hat worn by one of three males chased Aug. 28 in Columbus Park in Chicago led to an Oak Park man being charged March 10 with felony theft. The hat and other items were taken that day on the 0-100 block of Harrison Street.

A 24-year-old Chicago man was charged at 9:13 a.m. March 11 with criminal trespass to property after he had been warned numerous times not to return to Starbuck's, 711 Lake St.

A 37-year-old Chicago woman was charged March 10 with retail theft for taking two 12-packs and two cans of beer Feb. 24 from the Jewel Osco store, 438 Madison St.

A 35-year-old Oak Park man was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped on the 1100 block of Clinton Avenue at 12:40 a.m. March 10.

A 19-year-old man who lives on the 100 block of South Harvey Avenue was charged with domestic battery after he hit his 20-year-old sister in the mouth at 10:36 p.m. March 9.

A 31-year-old Berkley woman was charged March 9 with theft of use of property for failing to return a rented gray 2012 Dodge Avenger from Enterprise, 25 Chicago Ave. The car was recovered.

A 31-year-old Oak Park woman was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol on the 0-100 block of North Harlem Avenue at 10:42 p.m. March 8.

A 53-year-old Chicago man was charged as a fugitive from justice when found at 2:22 p.m. March 7 sitting in a car on the 5900 block of Adams Street in Chicago. He was wanted on a theft warrant from Missouri.

A woman argued with and poked a River Forest youth on the 400 block of North Harlem Avenue at 5:23 p.m. March 11 before leaving on a bus.

A black North Face backpack containing a black fossil wallet, driver's license, cash, debit card and Apple iPhone, all valued at $525, was stolen between 8:20 and 8:40 a.m. March 12 out of an unlocked pickup truck parked on the 400 block of North Harlem Avenue.

A brown leather wallet containing credit and debit cards was stolen between 9 p.m. March 10 and 3 a.m. March 11 out of an unlocked car parked in an unlocked garage on the 100 block of South Cuyler Avenue.

Two men were on video surveillance stealing two television sets, valued at $600, and a checkbook from an apartment on the 6400 block of Roosevelt Road between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. March 11.

A case of Gatorade valued at $20 and old check stubs were stolen between 4 p.m. March 9 and 7:50 a.m. March 10 from a car on the 900 block of Wesley Avenue.

A car was ransacked but nothing was stolen out of an unlocked car on the 1000 block of North Humphrey Avenue between 10:25 p.m. March 7 and 6:10 a.m. March 8.

A black Avartec 2500 laptop computer, socks and jewelry were stolen from a home after a locked door was pried open on the 1100 block of Holley Court between 8:15 a.m. and 2 p.m. March 7.

A pry tool was used on the driver's side window, causing $100 in damage, to try to enter a van parked on the 900 block of Wenonah Avenue between 9 and 10 p.m. March 9.

A metal electrical pipe with wire and a dark-gray Specialized Hardrock bicycle, both valued at $696, were stolen between 11 p.m. March and 9 a.m. March 8 out of an unlocked garage on the 1000 block of South Harvey Avenue.

A black 2013 Ford Edge stolen Jan 3 from Hertz Rental, 629 Madison St., was found March 11 by Chicago police on the 100 block of Washington Boulevard.

An Oak Park resident's silver 1997 Honda Accord that had been stolen Feb. 13 was found March 8 by Chicago police on the 700 block of North Avers.

A white Apple iPhone 4 valued at $500 was stolen from a break room at CVS, 6748 Roosevelt Rd., at 2:30 p.m. March 8.

An unattended pink Canon Micro Shot camera valued at $200 and belonging to West Suburban Hospital was stolen between 10:45 and 10:50 p.m. March 8 off a table in a progressive care unit room at the hospital, 3 Eric Court.

A Berwyn resident's locked royal-blue women's Schwinn bicycle valued at $640 was cut from the bike rack on the 400 block of Lake Street at 11 a.m. March 9.

A man escaped but clothes he stole from Old Navy, 417 N. Harlem Ave., at 10:23 a.m. March 7 were found at 401 N. Harlem Ave.

Three plastic bins containing electrical supplies – outlets, switches and boxes – valued at $400 were stolen between March 3 and 7 from an unlocked cellar under the rear porch of a home on the 900 block of South Humphrey Avenue.

A resident confronted a man entering a home on the 1200 block of Rossell Avenue at 11:15 a.m. March 12 after ringing the doorbell several times and then he fled.

A teen was seen using a black marker to write a 2-and-a half-inch-high "EA" on the front stone face of the Chase bank. 1048 Lake St., at 7 p.m. March 8, but he fled on foot..

The front window of Altamira Art Glass, 202 S. Marion St., was cracked, causing $500 in damage, between 9 a.m. and noon March 6.

The front and rear driver's side tires of a car were punctured between Feb. 2 and 9 on the 900 block of Wisconsin Avenue, causing $250 damage.

La Grange

A 51-year-old Chicago man was arrested March 16 about 5:50 p.m. near the corner of 47th Street and Stone Avenue for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A group of juveniles was reported throwing ice from the top of the parking garage March 14 about 5 p.m.

A West Maple Avenue resident reported receiving a fake letter from the IRS March 14 about 5:20 p.m.

A 49-year-old Brookfield man was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license March 14 about 5:20 p.m.

Com Ed workers were mistaken for people trying to break into a home on the 500 block of East Avenue March 14 about 8:25 a.m.

A 22-year-old homeless man was transported to a downtown Chicago shelter after he was reported panhandling March 14 about 1:46 p.m. on the 0-100 block of Burlington Avenue.

A man reported a hit-and-run involving his vehicle at the corner of La Grange Road and Harris Avenue March 13 about 9 p.m.

A caller on the 900 block of South Catherine Avenue reported on March 13 about noon that a woman with a car full of "junk" visited his house claiming to be a U.S. Census Bureau worker.

A 23-year-old Chicago man was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license and possession of cannabis March 11 about 3:20 p.m.
