The following items were taken from Glenview police reports:
A wedding ring, valued at $1,000, was stolen from a resident on the 2400 block of Indigo Lane while he or she was at a rehabilitation center on the 1500 block of Greenwood Road between April 26 and May 1.
A 37-year-old Glenview woman was arrested in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue on May 17 and charged with improper lane use and leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.
A 22-year-old Glenview man was arrested in the 2700 block of East Lake Avenue on May 18 and charged with drunken driving, possession of less than 2.5 grams of cannabis, driving an uninsured vehicle and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
A 47-year-old Glenview man was arrested in the 220 block of Pfingsten Road on May 18 and charged with speeding 35 miles per hour over the speed limit.
A 30-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested in the 3800 block of Willow Road on May 18 and charged with drunken driving and speeding 26 to 31 miles per hour over the speed limit.
A Redbox screen was smashed on the 2500 block of Waukegan Road on May 13, causing an estimated $750 in damage.
A gas grill, propane tank and table top smoker, valued at around $200, was stolen from a storage unit in the first floor common area of a building on the 1800 block of Tanglewood Drive sometime prior to May 14.
A man claiming to be with the village of Glenview tried to enter a home on the 3800 block of Gregory Drive on May 14, stating that he was drilling a hole nearby due to flooding and needed to turn off the water. When the man failed to provide ID, the resident pushed the man and called the police.
An estimated $250 in items was stolen from a vehicle parked in a driveway on the 1400 block of Hawthorne Lane between May 10 and 12.
Soil, clay, plant material and chunks of concrete were dumped in front of a business on the 2400 block of Compass Road, sometime on or before May 15.
A purse and its contents, valued at $122, were stolen from a shopping cart at a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road on May 15. The burglar also used one of the debit cards at an unknown location.
A snow blower, valued at $650, was stolen from a detached garage on the 900 block of Echo lane after someone pushed out a window between May 15 and 16.
A resident on the 4300 block of Westview Drive lost about $6,798 after he or she fell victim to a scam. A caller left a voicemail on May 16 alleging that the resident was in violation of an IRS code and stating that the resident needed to go to Jewel, purchase gift cards and read off the numbers. The resident bought about $6,798 worth of cards and gave the numbers to the caller, later realizing it was a scam.
On May 15, five checks totaling $5,000 bounced after a Glenview resident tried to deposit money earned from working as a mystery shopper.
A 200-pound safe and other personal items, valued at several thousand dollars, were stolen from a home on the 1600 block of Imperial Drive on May 16 after someone entered the home and ransacked the master bedroom.
A wallet was stolen off of a golf cart on May 17 while the golfer was at a driving range on the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue. Someone attempted a cash advance of $123 in Northbrook. The estimated loss is more than $300.
A building on the 1600 block of Glenview Road was spray-painted with stencil pictures of white rabbits sometime between May 17 and 18. A fence on the 900 block of Raleigh Road, traffic control boxes and the sidewalk in the 1600 block of Glenview Road were also defaced.
A cell phone, valued at $300, was stolen from the 1800 block of Tower Drive on May 18.
A twin size mattress and box spring were dumped at Roosevelt Park, 2200 Grove Street, on May 19.
A $27.14 rebate check was stolen from a mailbox on the 1000 block of Castilian Court on May 19. It was cashed at the issuing store in Mount Prospect.
A man wearing only a shirt exposed himself as a jogger passed him on the 1800 block of Patriot Boulevard on May 20, then fled.
A 26-year-old Wheeling man was arrested on May 20 by Cook County Forest Preserve Police on a warrant from the Glenview Police Department for failing to appear in court.
A 30-year-old Chicago man was arrested in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road on May 20 and charged with furnishing a false name, address or date of birth to a police officer.
A 25-year-old Glenview man was arrested in the 0 to 100 block of Washington Street and charged with domestic battery on May 22.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
