A body discovered near I-80 in Tinley Park this month has been identified as James Hill, 51, officials said.
Illinois State Police found Hill's body near I-80 in Tinley Park July 3, with his motorcycle located nearby, officials said.
State police received a report about 9:30 a.m. of a crashed motorcycle and body near the I-80 westbound ramp to Harlem Avenue, spokeswoman Monique Bond said.
The motorcycle was "deep in a ditch and was not visible from the ramp," Bond wrote in an email.
Mayor Ed Zabrocki said the man had been missing for more than a week and was a Tinley Park resident.
The cause of death has yet to be officially determined, a representative from the Cook County medical examiner's office said.
Hill's sister, Denise Bouche, said authorities believe it was simply a motorcycle accident.
"I'm gonna miss him because he was the one that I called whenever I needed anything," Bouche said.
