The grand opening of Optima Chicago Center is Oct. 5-6, and the public is invited to tour model units of the 42-story luxury rental building at 200 E. Illinois St. in Chicago's Streeterville neighborhood.
Optima Chicago Center is the latest building designed by architect and developer David Hovey. The project is a joint venture between Optima Inc. and DeBartolo Development, and has been designed as part of a dual-tower complex by Hovey.
"Visitors to the grand opening will be able to tour the models and the many state-of-the-art gathering areas and recreational amenities provided for our residents," Hovey said.
The glass-enclosed building includes 325 residential units, 235 parking spaces and more than 20,000 square feet of retail and office space. The enclosed parking garage has storage units and bicycle and motorcycle parking.
Convertible, one-, two- and three-bedroom and penthouse floor plans are available.
On-site management, concierge services and dry cleaning are provided. The lobby includes a 24-hour doorman service, 24/7 monitored access, intercom and video surveillance.
The tour will include six model residences, 10th-floor sports and fitness facilities and the 32nd-floor Residents' Club.
"The club level also can accommodate private social or business gatherings and is equipped with state-of-the-art audio/visual systems, two private catering kitchens and a fully equipped conference room," said Eric Richards, vice president of Optima Real Estate Inc.
The 42nd floor of the pet-friendly building features the green roof sky garden with a path leading to a sun deck with a hydrotherapy pool, fire pits and grilling stations.
Each unit has a washer and dryer, floor-to-ceiling windows, bamboo flooring, and natural stone and neutral finishes. All kitchens have stainless steel appliances and granite counters.
The model residences include a convertible unit, priced from $1,960 to $2,542 a month; a one-bedroom plan, priced from $2,011 to $4,563 monthly; two-bedroom plans from $2,944 to $4,704 monthly; and three-bedroom plans from $4,744 to $5,474 monthly. Two three-bedroom penthouses are priced at $10,145 and $10,311 a month.
Visitors also will be able to look in on the 17 private furnished offices available for leasing by residents. More than 17,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space is available.
Plans for Optima Chicago Center include a second tower that will connect with this building. An acre parcel at 220 E. Illinois St. is the site for a 57-story mixed-use building.
