Mount Prospect man charged with criminal sexual abuse

A 21-year-old Mount Prospect man has been charged with criminal sexual abuse of an underage person in Glenview in connection with an incident that allegedly happened over the summer, authorities said.

Glenview police arrested Richard Wolnik, of the 1800 block of East Wood Lane, on Jan. 9 in connection with an incident that took place on Aug. 17, according to a Glenview police press release.

Wolnik was less than five years older than the alleged victim, who was younger than 17 years old at the time, according to court documents.

Glenview police and Cook County State's Attorney's Office would not provide further details regarding the case.

Wolnik appeared in bond court on Jan. 16 and was released on a bond of $1,000, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and police.

When reached by phone today, Wolnik declined to comment.

His next court date is set for Feb. 20.
