A recently released study from the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORGOV000000148" title="U.S. Department of Transportation" href="/topic/transportation/u.s.-department-of-transportation-ORGOV000000148.topic">U.S. Department of Transportation</a>'s Office of the Inspector General concluded FAA scheduling rules at Newark, JFK, and LaGuardia put too many planes "waiting in line" when the weather is bad in the East, producing delays that can ripple through the country. Then there's storms, the subsequent scarce supply of seats available after the storm, making it more difficult to book stranded passengers on later flights. Even wind, can trigger delays most often, here.
