The Children's Place clothing store in Orland Square Mall will be closed for a few weeks for remodeling.
The 3,883-square-foot store will be upgraded to feature an open layout with departments for newborns and girls and boys up to 14.
The remodeling will cost an estimated $150,000 and is expected to be finished for a reopening on Feb. 11.
The store is on the mall's upper level between Sears and Carsons.
An International House of Pancakes opened in late December at 411 E. Lincoln Highway in New Lenox.
The restaurant is open daily from 6 a.m.-midnight.

El Coco Mio, a second restaurant venture for Fanny and Carlos Guzman, who also own Isabella's, is scheduled to open at 4 p.m. Jan. 23 in the former Bogart's at 17344 S. Oak Park Ave. in downtown Tinley Park.
Isabella's Facebook page says the new restaurant will feature Latin American dishes such as empanadas, oxtail stew, coconut shrimp, drunken mussels and stuffed plantains. Tropical fruits and vegetables are also going to be featured on the menu. Isabella's features Italian dishes.
Carlos Guzman will be the chef at both. Employees said El Coco Mio's dining room will be open from 4-10 p.m. daily and the lounge is expected to stay open until 2 a.m. A bar menu featuring appetizers will be available in the lounge.
The Guzmans had originally hoped to be open by last summer and then set the date for Jan. 15, but that also was pushed back.
Children's Therapy Connection, specializing in therapy for disabled children, had a grand opening ast week at 14711 Ravinia Ave. in Orland Park. The office offers holistic health care, baby development classes and special needs massage.
The clinic, which has been seeing patients since late September, is open daily from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.

A salon and day spa that has been operating for almost two decades in Frankfort moved into bigger quarters last year.
Jeffrey LaMorte Salon & Day Spa moved into the former Blockbuster video store at 20887 S. LaGrange Road in Frankfort. The new location is about twice the size of its previous site.
The salon, which added an Orland Park location in 2001 and one in Lemont in 2007, offers a full range of salon and spa services.
