DaWana Williamson, has been promoted to vice president of human services of the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. She will be responsible for managing and measuring the impact of flagship programs of the Y. Williamson began her career as a chemical engineer working for a steel mill and a chemical company. She altered her career trajectory from engineering to performance management positions at The Home Depot, the MacArthur Foundation and the Chicago Public School. She also returned to school to earn an MBA. Williamson, 46, is a graduate of Indiana University¿s graduate school of business and Hampton University. She lives in south suburban Chicago with her husband and children.
