Ram Murthy, chief information officer, U.S. Railroad Retirement board

The U.S. Railroad Retirement Board has named Ram Murthy as its chief information officer. He will head the RRB¿s bureau of information Services and its more than 150 employees. Murthy was previously assistant director of the executive office for U.S. Attorneys at the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and also  served as CIO for the Office of Inspector General at the U.S. Department of Transportation among other government posts. In the private sector, Murthy spent 16 years as a senior-level engineer and manager in information systems development and support. Murthy received his master of degrees in mechanical engineering and computer science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark.
