Bela Moté has been named senior vice president of learning and evaluation for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. She will lead the new department responsible for developing and managing cross-functional learning, evaluation and innovation at the Y. She was formerly director of operations for human services. Prior to joining the Y, Moté held positions with the Ounce of Prevention Fund in Chicago, Teaching Strategies in Bethesda, Maryland, and the McCormick Foundation in Chicago. Moté, 41, began her career as a licensed, center-based early childhood educator in Chicago, and later served as a director of early childhood programs at the Infant Welfare Society of Evanston.
