Elizabeth P. Lewis has been promoted to partner in the Chicago office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP. She focuses a substantial portion of her practice on international tax planning for U.S. and foreign-based multinational companies. Lewis advises on multi-jurisdictional business structures and assists in developing structures that minimize foreign taxes of U.S. multinationals without adversely affecting their U.S. tax position. She also advises clients on a broad range of cross-border tax issues, including subpart F and other anti-deferral rules; sourcing issues; U.S. trade, business or permanent establishment issues; and Section 367. In addition, Lewis advises clients, including family offices, on the structuring and implementation of transactions involving partnerships, limited liability companies and S corporations. Lewis earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Northwestern University.
