Matthew Bruce, executive director, Chicagoland Workforce Funders Alliance

Matthew Bruce has been appointed executive director of the Chicagoland Workforce Funders Alliance (CWFA), a newly formed donor-advised fund that works in collaboration with employers and other stakeholders to help increase employment and earnings for underprepared workers in the region. He will work with the CWFA management committee to oversee a grant-making portfolio that at its start totals nearly $1.5 million, and will have a role in the Alliance's support for new and existing workforce partnerships. 

Prior to joining CWFA, Bruce was manager of regional workforce initiatives for the City of Boston. He holds a Bachelor's degree from Tufts University and a Master's degree from the University of Chicago.
