iPhone 4 controversy

Apple came under fire shortly after it introduced the iPhone 4, as consumers began complaining that the iPhone 4's antenna had some problems with its design and was dropping calls. In July of 2010, Consumer Reports refused to recommend the iPhone 4 to consumers because it found severe signal attenuation (though it still gave the iPhone 4 its highest rating.) Apple ended up mailing out free bumpers to address the problem.Justin Sullivan/Getty Images
