iPhone 4 controversy

Apple came under fire shortly after it introduced the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PRDCES00000002" title="Apple iPhone" href="/topic/services-shopping/apple-iphone-PRDCES00000002.topic">iPhone</a> 4, as consumers began complaining that the iPhone 4's antenna had some problems with its design and was dropping calls. In July of 2010, Consumer Reports refused to recommend the iPhone 4 to consumers because it found severe signal attenuation (though it still gave the iPhone 4 its highest rating.) Apple ended up mailing out free bumpers to address the problem.
