14. Milwaukee, Wis. made the list due to its famous RiverWalk, a 3-mile walkway that winds down the Milwaukee River to Lake Michigan, and connects to both downtown destinations and to state parks and trails.

Calatrava designed the addition for the Milwaukee Art Museum which has a 30 percent increase in gallery space along with a 250ft long suspension bridge and the Quadracci Pavilion.
