Surprise sparked ire in land proposal - July 4, 2008 - The insurgents met to plot their next move, over lemonade and chocolate chip cookies. The level of their anger was such that even the tiniest revolutionary, a mere child, used the strongest language that her young ears probably had ever heard.

Annapolis showed why world news is important - December 2, 2007 - Last week's Middle East summit meeting in Annapolis was major front-page news in The Sun, which offered significant coverage for much of the week. While serious gains from the daylong talks appeared unlikely even before they began, The Sun's coverage was, in my view, appropriate for two reasons. I was just off Charles Street, in the Homeland neighborhood. Lawns remain emerald green, without any early-July brown patches. I thought it was May in July.

Oldest running mate ever had Md. roots - July 6, 2008 - If the age of Republican presidential hopeful John McCain is of some concern to voters, how about the case of Henry Gassaway Davis, who was 80 when he was nominated to be Democratic nominee Alton B. Parker's vice presidential candidate in 1904?
