A prehung door is mounted with hinges on a jamb that surrounds the door, which is predrilled for door handles and locks so they line up properly. Many have reinforced steel plates behind the locking mechanisms for added security. A door opening is usually built with double studs on both sides; if the opening requires additional reconstruction or repair work, budget more time and money, and reconsider whether you should doing it yourself
