Oscar winner sells in Brentwood

Musician T Bone Burnett has sold his Brentwood home for $2.75 million, the Multiple Listing Service shows.

The Cape Cod-inspired house, built in 1945, features four bedrooms, four bathrooms and 3,090 square feet of living space. French doors off the family room, which has a bar, open to a garden. There are a swimming pool and a spa.

The guitarist and record producer, 63, has worked with Bob Dylan, John Mellencamp and Elton John, among others. He has won multiple Grammys and last year shared an Oscar with Ryan Bingham for original song ("The Weary Kind") for the film "Crazy Heart."

Juliette Hohnen of Teles Properties and Ann Eysenring of Partners Trust were the listing agents. Max Shapiro of Westside Estate Agency represented the buyer, according to the MLS.

Ex-Dodgers president hoping it's a hit

Former Dodgers President Dennis Mannion has his estate in La Cañada Flintridge up for sale at $3.3 million.

Set on two acres, the Spanish-style house offers views of Pasadena, Glendale and Los Angeles. The 5,019-square-foot main house, built in 1960 and designed for entertaining, features walls of glass, an oversize living room, a family room, an office, four bedrooms and four bathrooms. A two-room studio of 781 square feet includes a three-quarter bathroom. Among outdoor amenities are a swimming pool, a spa and a barbecue area with a fireplace.

Mannion, who started with the Dodgers in 2007 as executive vice president, left the team a year ago. He is president of the Detroit Pistons and Palace Sports & Entertainment.

Public records show he bought the property in 2009 for $3.1 million.

Hockey player closes up beach house

Two-time Stanley Cup winner Oleg Tverdovsky has sold his Manhattan Beach house for $2,065,000.

Built in 2006, the Spanish-style house opens to a wood-burning fireplace in the backyard. Beams from a Virginia farmhouse more than 100 years old were used in the vaulted ceiling of the master bedroom. The 3,350-square-foot home has five bedrooms and four bathrooms.

The Ukrainian-born defenseman, 35, played with the Los Angeles Kings and Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, among other National Hockey League teams. He now plays in the international Kontinental Hockey League.

Public records show he bought the property in 2007 for $2.49 million. He also owns a house in Bel-Air, purchased last year for $5.4 million.
