Jeep showed the first three official photos of the 2018 Wrangler on Halloween eve, but there were few details. Then on Nov.8, the Jeep crew released two more photos, but with no more details. The full story will come out Nov. 29 at the new Wrangler’s public outing at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

And here’s what we know from the press release and other reports.
Known as the JL in company terms, the Wrangler will be new from the tires to the roof in a styling that stays true to the original, including the traditional fold-down windshield and removable doors for off-road purists. Two- and four-door body styles will be offered with advanced, fuel-efficient powertrains. There will be more safety features and advanced technologies than ever before, Jeep said in the release.
The design includes the instantly recognizable keystone-shaped grille and round headlamps with square tail lamps. New to the appearance are small vents on the two front quarter panels, just behind the fenders.
The body has improved aerodynamics and dozens of different door, top and windshield combinations.
Production of the JL Wrangler is to begin this week on a newly retooled assembly line at the automaker’s Toledo, Ohio, assembly plant.
The Jeep Wrangler was named “Hottest 4x4-SUV” for the eighth consecutive year at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, ongoing through Nov. 3 (sema.org). There were several modified Jeeps on display with a big selection of the more than 200 new Jeep performance parts and accessories for the 2018 Wrangler.
Among the lift kits, off-road lights, bumpers and beadlock-capable wheels were a couple of new accessories, including a roof rack for mounting a variety of lifestyle cargo carriers and a tailgate table.
