Jewel-Osco grocery deals and coupon matchups week of Feb. 10

Here are the top deals to be found at Chicago grocery stores Jewel-Osco for the week of Feb. 10, with coupon matchups. I don't list every item from the Wednesday grocery ad, only those that are close to their low prices or those that have a good coupon available. My favorite deal this week is the ConAgra "spend $25, get $10" Catalina deal, which I explain below. Also not bad: Maruchan Yakisoba is buy one, get one free @ $1.39, so if you have two 50-cent coupons from the 1/2 SmartSource, it's only 39 cents for two packs.

(A note about coupons: The coupon inserts I'll refer to here are SmartSource, RedPlum and the P&G Brand Saver, which come in your Sunday paper. Avid couponers save their Sunday inserts, so they can go back and clip the necessary coupons when a sale comes up. I'll tell you the date the coupon appeared, and if you still have your inserts, you can dig them out and clip it. I'll also tell you where to find printable coupons online. For more coupon tips, see my post on how to maximize coupon savings.)

And, here are the deals:

boneless, skinless chicken breasts $1.88/lb.

Anjou pears or red delicious apples 88 cents/lb.

Jewel sweet wheat or family size white bread, Bumble Bee solid white tuna 5 oz. 88 cents each

Prego pasta sauce 23-24 oz. $1.28 (use $1 off 3 coupon from the 1/2 SmartSource)

CATALINA DEAL: Spend $25 on these ConAgra products, get a $10 coupon to spend like cash on your next order. Valid through 2/16 (it is already working).

For an explanation of why couponers get excited about Jewel's Catalina deals, see my Catalina intro over on Wise Bread. Also see this spreadsheet from participants in the message board at Couponers Wanted listing more products included in the deal.
