A Chicago man died this morning in a rollover crash in Northwest Indiana, Indiana State Police said.

The man was identified as Daniel S. Sayger, 41, of Chicago, according to a statement. Indiana State Police did not give Sayger's home address, but records indicate he lived in the 2500 block of West 111th Street, in Chicago's West Morgan Park neighborhood.

The crash happened just before 4 a.m. as Sayger's 2008 Saturn sedan was headed east on U.S. Interstate 80 near Calumet Avenue, the statement said.

The car was in the right lane when it hit an impact barrier head-on. The barrier divides I-80 from the exit ramp to Calumet Avenue. The car rolled three times before coming to rest on the ramp.

Sayger was taken to Munster Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said that Sayger was not wearing a seat belt and that alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
