1983: Orioles beat White Sox

6. Oct. 8, 1983: Orioles 3, White Sox 0. The Sox won the AL West by 20 games with a 99-63 record but couldn't muster much offense in the ALCS, losing the best-of-five series 3-1. Tito Landrum broke the hearts of Sox fans with a 10th-inning homer in Game 4 after Sox starter Britt Burns had tossed nine scoreless innings. The loss is also remembered for a crucial baserunning mistake by Jerry Dybzinski. The Orioles went on to win the World Series over the Phillies.
