The FBI is on the hunt for a woman in large glasses and a winter hat and coat who tried to rob a bank this afternoon in the Montclare neighborhood and then held up a another one in Little Village two hours later.
The attempted robbery happened about 2:30 p.m. at the Fifth Third Bank branch, 2710 N. Narragansett Ave., according to the FBI.
The Hispanic woman in her early 20s, who is 5-foot-2 to 5-foot-3, was wearing a winter jacket with a fur-trimmed hood and a hat during the holdup try, the FBI said. She appeared to be wearing sweatpants or pajama pants and large eyeglasses.
She did not display a weapon, according to the FBI.
About two hours later police reported the Charter One Bank branch at 2654 W. Cermak Rd. was robbed by a woman who implied she had a weapon.
She got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled without harming anyone, according to an Ogden District police lieutenant.
The FBI said it is the same woman.
