A woman was hit by a car and seriously injured in the Lawndale neighborhood this morning after the vehicle's driver lost control because of a medical attack, authorities said.
The woman, 52, was hit by a car in the 3000 block of West Harrison Street a little after 8 a.m. and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious-to-critical condition, according to the Chicago Fire Department's media office.
The driver of the car, also 52, was taken to Mount Sinai in fair-to-serious condition, according to the Fire Department.
The driver of the car was believed to have suffered a medical attack, said Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.
