Woman 'extremely critical' after being hit by bus at O'Hare

A woman who was hit by a bus at O'Hare International Airport this afternoon was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The victim was on foot on the lower level near the United Terminal when a bus traveling in the outer lanes hit her about 2:35 p.m., according to police.

The woman was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge in "extremely critical" condition, said Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford.

Crews initially believed the woman was pinned inside a vehicle but learned she'd been hit by a vehicle and possibly dragged, Langford said.

Police had no further details.
