A West Loop bank was robbed this afternoon by a man who passed a note to a teller, police said.
The bank in the 300 block of South Riveside Plaza was robbed about 3:40 p.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada.
A Chase Bank is located in that block.
The man walked into the bank and passed a note to a teller, announcing a robbery. The man did not show or imply that he had a gun, Estrada said.
After the man was given cash, he fled east on Jackson, Estrada said.
No one was injured in the robbery.
The robber is described as a white man, about 40 years old, standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 190 pounds. When last seen he was wearing a black Blackhawks hat, a blue Bears T-shirt, black pants and black shoes.
No one was in custody.
The Chicago FBI press office did not immediately have information about the investigation.
