An arrest warrant was issued today for a 22-year-old Homewood man charged with beating and stabbing his mother this week, Cook County sheriff's officials said.
The warrant was issued for Blake Springsteen, who is suspected of attaking his 46-year-old mother Monday in the 3600 block of Flossmoor Road in an unincorporated area near Homewood, Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart said in a press release.
After beating the woman, he bound her, put her in the trunk of a car and drove her to Crete, Dart said. He then stabbed the woman several times and left her in a ditch in the 900 block of Columbia Street, Dart said in the statement.
The woman survivived the attack and her condition had stabilized in an area hospital, officials said.
Springsteen is described as a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 240 pounds.
A no-bond arrest warrant was issued today, according to a sheriff's spokeswoman.
Anyone with information is asked not to approach Springsteen but to call 911 or Cook County Sheriff’s police at 847-635-1188, Dart said.
